How to Clean a Herb Grinder – The Right Way
Your herb grinder works hard — and over time, it gets sticky, gunky, and even clogged. Cleaning your grinder regularly keeps your herbs tasting fresh and your grind smooth.
Here’s how to clean your grinder properly, step by step:
What You’ll Need:
Small brush (old toothbrush works)
Isopropyl alcohol (90%+)
Toothpick or scraper
Warm water
Paper towels
Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide:
1. Take It ApartDisassemble all the grinder pieces. If it’s a 4-piece grinder, remove the lid, grinding chamber, collection chamber, and kief screen.
2. Brush Off Loose BitsUse the brush or toothpick to remove dry herb or kief. Save the kief if you like!
3. Soak in AlcoholPlace metal parts in a bowl with isopropyl alcohol. Let soak for 20–30 minutes to dissolve sticky resin.
4. Scrub and RinseUse the brush to scrub off residue, then rinse with warm water.
5. Dry CompletelyLet everything dry fully before reassembling — you don’t want mold or rust.
💡 Tip: Clean every 2-4 weeks if you use your grinder often.
